This post is for my Foodies out there. Yummy!

Aside from Beauty, I love me some food. When I say I LOVE ME SOME FOOD...boy you have no idea. Food is my happy place, hence why I need to start working out 😩
I could be having the crappiest day, give me a beautifully cooked meal, and boom.. mood changed!

But being of Hispanic decent, I'm used to eating rice, chicken, pork chops.. etc. So I need to make some changes in my lifestyle so that when special occasions arise, I can enjoy my families traditional cooking.

Since changing up my eating habits, I've gravitated towards Fish, especially Salmon.
I've experimented with different recipes on cooking Salmon, but I will have to say, the Maple Salmon recipe is my favorite!

This recipe I got from Allrecipes.com and I've used it a few times, and it tastes scrumptious every time!

If you like fish, what kind of recipes do you like?

    Look at this yummy goodness!

    Ingredients needed:

    1/4 cup maple syrup

    2 tablespoons soy sauce
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
    1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
    1 pound salmon

In a small bowl, mix the maple syrup, soy sauce, garlic, garlic salt, and pepper.
Place salmon in a shallow glass baking dish, and coat with the maple syrup mixture. Cover the dish, and marinate salmon in the refrigerator 30 minutes, turning once.
    Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven, and bake salmon uncovered 20 minutes, or until easily flaked with a fork.

Another reason why I love making this dish; prep and cook time is so fast! So it can make a great evening meal for the whole family.

When I made my dish, I made it with a side of brown rice and either some green beans or some broccoli.

    Enjoy!

I know we all like to save a little coin, especially for us makeup loving humans. Sometimes you just want to get some makeup that isn't going to break the bank.
Well, my lovelies; do I have a steal for you.

I recently ventured out to a store called Five Below. It's basically a store that sells toys, huge candy, t-shirts, little things and of course makeup and everything is $5 or less!
In the makeup section, they have palettes, eyeliners, blushes, contour sets, foundations... I mean a bunch, you get my drift.

I was gifted from a friend of mine, five palettes ( I picked them out) and a liquid eye shadow.
Totaling $28. Five dollars for each palette and three dollars for the liquid eye shadow.

Now I will tell you, sometimes the makeup can be hit or miss. But for the price tag, it's not a huge loss if you get a dud.

Out of the 5 palettes that I received, I really like all of them. Now, do I like every single shade in each palette; No. Some shades don't have much pigmentation and have to be applied a few times just to get the color pay off. But I will say for those shades that don't turn out the way you want them to when using them on the lids, they do work well when wet or putting a light base underneath. Although, you should be wearing a base on your lids anyway to prevent creasing of your eye shadow.

Below are swatches for each of the palettes as well as the palettes themselves. The darker colors in all of the palettes work amazing, the matte lighter colors are the ones in my opinion, don't have much color payoff. The sparkly ones show very beautifully, and can be enhanced when adding a darker color underneath.

The liquid eye shadow that I received, worked really well. I did notice that when you apply it, it doesn't dry that quickly, so you have to keep your eyes closed for a few seconds for it to dry. If not, it will crease. But overall it's a pretty little liquid pigment.

So if you have a Five Below store near you, I suggest you swing by there and check out their makeup sections. They definitely have some goodies to go through.

Feeling motivated can sometimes feel daunting and feel like a task on its own. You have to constantly pump yourself up to get into the right frame of mind to believe in yourself.

In the beginning of my journey of staying positive and working through any negative feelings I would have, I would read/watch certain people.
I've also learned that in order to feel motivated and suppress any negative energy, you have to find inner peace.

Going for a walk to clear your mind, exercise, reading a book; these are all ways to get a better sense of clarity to release any negative feelings that lye within you.

What has helped me personally, is reading and watching certain Motivational YouTubers.

One of the books I have been reading is The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. If you are like me, then you sometimes wonder, " Why am I on this earth?" What is your true purpose? This book sums up your questions, and gives you the true meaning of life.

There are a few YouTubers that I watch to help as well. Yes, I do love the occasional Beauty video, but let's focus on Motivation here. 😁

Here is a list of YouTubers that I enjoy watching:

    1. Jordan Cheyenne- With her amazing Boss Babe series, she is one to watch to get your financial affairs in order as well as manifesting your dreams into reality.

    2. Amy Schmittauer- If you want to learn how to Vlog like a Boss..then Amy is your girl. She also touches on topics about How to be confident.

    3. Gary Vee- Of course what list of Motivators and innovators doesn't include THE Gary Vee! I love how he tells you like it is. Pushing you out of your comfort zone to be the person you deserve to be.

    4. Law of Attraction-  I listen to this channel every single morning. It mainly consists of speeches from different Motivational Speakers. It's the best channel to listen to for that early morning pick me up and help you get ready to rock your day.

    5. Jake Ducey- Jake is a new YouTuber I stumbled across. He gives you daily motivation and offers tricks to manifest your dreams and goals even while you sleep.

There are others that I follow, but these are my trusty 5 that I gravitate towards every day. Of course you can also watch The Secret ( Upon publishing this post it was available on Netflix).

So I hope this helps you stay on track for your goals and keep you towards the path to the life you deserve.

Just this morning, I sat outside on my back porch and noticed a tiny frog just sitting in the grass. I watched it sit there for about 10 minutes. It never moved, and quite honestly, thought it was dead.

But then I noticed something about this little frog. It wasn't dead, it was waiting. Waiting for a fly, or any kind of small flying insect to come its way. Once it did, he opened his mouth and quickly caught the little insect with his tongue.

As I sat there watching this little frog wait for food to come its way, I thought to myself, dang, this little frog has a lot of patience. He probably would of waited there for a longer period of time, had that little insect not come within those 10 minutes of waiting.

It's his way of life, he has no other way of catching his food. He must wait, be patient and food will come to him.

This tiny act of survival made me think even more about life as a human. How many times in your life do you want something to happen, we wait for something GOOD to happen, whether it's trying to find happiness with a companion, finding the right job, etc. and we think, my life is not how I thought it would be. So we continue living the way we do, because our minds are programmed to think, " THIS IS IT!"This is how I am meant to live my life. It's too late to change the course of how I would of wanted my life to be.

But here is where we are wrong.

We think because we are too old, too young, too fat, too thin or not popular enough, that we can't change how we want and should be living.

First off my dears, you are never too old, young, fat or thin to start a journey that better prepares you for an abundant future.

So what if you aren't popular, guess what; if you are popular and you have an attitude and heart of a stone, that popularity will fade fast. People know when someone is pretending to be someone or something they are not, and that soon will come to light.

You must know in your heart that what you want out of life will be something worth sacrificing for. It's something that you are willing to work your a** off for. You have to have the passion, drive and determination to get what you want and deserve in life.

So lets learn from this little frog. Sometimes it takes working hard and waiting for that right moment to catch your dream. It takes time, it won't happen overnight.
Change your mindset, don't think you are done and call it quits and settle.

God didn't create you to be average, he created you to be strong, diligent and worthy in your own right.
Will you fail, yes. Everyone fails when they try something new. Will it be easy, hell no. If it was easy, everyone would do it. But what sets you apart is this... when you fail, will you give up? Failure is apart of life, it's what you do next that will determine your success.

Les Brown said it best; "Expectation shows up by behavior".

You can't expect change to happen if you don't work for it. So get out there and do what needs to be done to achieve your dreams, and live the life you deserve!
